Cobblers work on Harada

Haadasun
Harada & part of the team.
It's like the Prince and Cinderalla. There is mass attention to Haradas feet. Hopefully we get a good outcome.  The big fella has come out of Saturdays race well and now it is just a matter of working out the feet issues. If that can be overcome then Sydney may still be on but the team will not leave one stone unturned.

In the recent site survey nearly 70% of respondents said that Harada will be best suited to the big track of Flemington.  Tell us whether you think he can do the business in Sydney in our latest poll.

The Emperor has new shoes

Fighting Harada
Fighting Harada
Trainer Tony Vasil has reported that Haradasun has had new shoes glued onto his hooves.  Tony indicated that Harada had pulled off a number of the nail on shoes and that these new shoes would help that. The champ also had the abscess burst just above his coronet band on his foot and Tony is reporting all is coming together in that department.

It's now only a few days away from Harada's grand final for this Autumn. All along it has been Harada's aim for the Australian Guineas over 1600m on Super Saturday (Saturday 10th March).

55% of the 50 repondents to the poll question about Harada's possible best distance said the 1401 to 1800 metres will be the best distance for Harada. So in this tilt at the Australian Guineas Harada is stepping up from 1400m to 1600m. In terms of races contested so far this will have been his furthest distance so far. Tony has no concerns on him getting the trip.

And 50% of the respondents to the question about a theme song for Harada leading into this main event picked Eye of The Tiger from Rocky III.

Well Big News! FH's big brother Elvis has got the band back together and is busily recording a version to be  sent down so FH can put it in his IPOD on the day of the main event! Watch for those ear muffs!

There will be only one place to be on Super Saturday ... and that is ringside in the Champs corner at Caulfield to see Fighting Harada do his best!

Champs sizzling sectionals

Haradasun ran sizzling final sectionals in the Schweppes Stakes but it was just not enough to return as victor.

John Singleton said it best when talking earlier this year about horse racing and the Australian way of life ... he said that the traditional Australiana psyche is built on "horse racing and pubs". In all the towns across the land there was a racecourse and a pub. It's an integral part of the culture. Blokes work hard during the week and then come Saturday we'll race to see who has the fastest horse. And then when it is all said and done we'll have a beer in the pub and celebrate or commiserate... Then next week we'll do the same.

This week it wasn't Haradasun but let's just wait and see next time. Those sectionals are freakish!
